Youth Ministry Symposium 2014: Faith, Values and Millennials
Explore the sometimes troubling world of today’s emerging adults best by rampant consumer capitalism, ongoing failures in education, hyper individualism, post-modernist moral relativism, and other “chaotic” aspects of “growing up”. How do the cultural mores of our society affect how we pass on the faith and values we hold to young adults? What hope do we have to offer? And how do we offer it? Are we ready to face the challenges of the millennial world?
Featuring Lost in Transition authors Patricia Herzog and Hilary Davidson with a Lutheran response by Tom Couser, we will grow in our understanding of the values and issues surrounding the millennial generation and discuss ways to intentionally minister to and with them.
YM14 is designed for people who are serious about youth ministry. This symposium offers a time for learning, professional growth, refreshment, and worship. Professional and lay workers alike will be challenged and equipped for doing youth ministry in a postmodern world.
