We boldly and confidently pray to our LORD with thanksgiving knowing that Christ intercedes for us (Romans 8:22-23; Galatians 4:6; Hebrews 7:25). Section 2 of Luther’s small catechism points us to the daily trust that the Lord hears and answers our prayers at all times (Philippians 4:4-7). Luther gives us basic instructions for prayer in the morning, evening, before and after a meal so that our will is conformed to His Will (I Peter 5:6). All of our prayers are placed into His hands as we ask that His holy angel watch over us with full confidence that He provides and care for His sheep.
Rev. Mark Bestul, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL joins Rev. Brady Finnern to study and pray the Daily Prayers from Luther’s Small Catechism.
