Everyone from TV commercials and sports stars to your teachers and family say that you’re meant to be special with a special plan that God has for you. Yet, the failures of the past, the frustrations of the present and the insecurities of the future can tackle you, pin you down and make you feel suffocated. Jesus came to us and for us, not just to give us heaven (which He does!) but also to help you see that you are incredible as He has made you and called you. He aches for you to be fully who you are made to be and to walk with you along your life’s path. We become most who we are the more we see ourselves though His eyes and by His Spirit.
Bio: Pastor Bill Yonker serves as the Senior Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee, Illinois. For the last 25 years he has traveled around the country speaking at conferences, retreats, camps, high schools, middle schools and college campuses. Recently he traveled to Denmark to keynote speak and this fall will travel to and speak in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He was named one of the 150 most influential alumni of Valparaiso University of the last 150 years. Pastor Yonker is an avid coffee drinker, lover of stories and storytelling, voracious reader, ardent fan of the Green Bay Packers and is enthralled with Frank Sinatra music and 60’s bubblegum music. He is married to Joanne – an occupational therapist, and is father to Becca (married to Tyler), Abby and Josh. He is also the devoted grandpa to Nathan and Eloise Vachio.
