Phylan Peters-Bahkou, Lutheran High School South (St. Louis) American Sign Language and Theater Arts Teacher, and ASL students Morgan and Lillian join Andy and Sarah to share their stories about teaching and learning American Sign Language at Lutheran South. Phylan talks about how she became interested in ASL, how she has seen ASL and learning about the Deaf community make a real difference in her life and the life of her friends, and why it’s important to teach this language to young people. Morgan and Lillian share why they’re interested in ASL, what they’ve been learning in class, and how they hope to use this language in the future.
