In Ezekiel, God insists that He Himself will shepherd His people, gathering them with one Shepherd, a prediction of Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul states that in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of all who sleep. In Matthew 25, Jesus speaks of the judgment to come on the last day when He returns and separates the sheep and the goats.
