Today Pastor Glen Thomas looks at the readings for the Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost, Series A in the Three Year Lectionary. In Isaiah 45:1-7, God promises a return and restoration of His people from their captivity in Babylon. In 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10, Paul cites the Christians in Thessalonica as a great example of Christian living for all the world to see. In Matthew 22:15-22, Jesus evades a trap set by the Pharisees and the Herodians by stating that they should “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”
