In the first part of today’s episode, Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller talks about atheism and evolution, including the gaps in evolutionary theory:
- nothing to something
- death to life
- one cell to two cells
- asexual to sexual reproduction
- unconsciousness to consciousness
Then, Rev. Scott Stiegemeyer joins in to talk about transhumanism, which is the theory that technology is the path to human salvation. He talks about the implications of this theory on our theology, the Christian framework (creation, incarnation, and the resurrection of the body) through which we can analyze and think about this technology, and how we talk about this to our unbelieving neighbors.
Guest Rev. Scott Stiegemeyer, Assistant Professor of Theology & Director of Ministerial Formation at Concordia University Irvine, joins host Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller, Senior Pastor at Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora, Colorado, and author of the book Has American Christianity Failed?, to talk about curious topics to excite the imagination, equip the mind, and comfort the soul with God’s ordering of the world in the Law and Gospel.
