Guests Dr. Robert K. Mueller, Composer, Professor, Conductor, Pianist, Church Organist and Choir Director, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rev. Tim Mueller, Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden, Illinois, and Roger Drinnon, Director of Editorial and Media Services for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, share details about the upcoming organ recital and hymn sing titled “The Hymns of the Lutheran Reformation: It’s Still All About Jesus” taking place Monday, October 16, at 7:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Minden, Illinois. Four years ago, New Mindon was devastated by a tornado, and St. John’s has been blessed with a beautiful new organ and church acoustics, and this hymn festival is one in a series of many that shares the music of the church with those in attendance. Guest organist is Dr. Robert K. Mueller of the University of Arkansas, who will lead the congregation through familiar hymns from throughout the church year, interspersed with his own commentary. A portion of the offering has been designated for an LCMS mission project called: “Christ’s Care for the Persecuted & Displaced: Mercy for Body and Soul.” Through this mission we stand by our partner church in Germany as she ministers to immigrants from the Middle East. If you are unable to attend the event, you can donate to this very worthy cause at lcms.org/givenow/CCPD.
