In today’s Meditatio Hour, Rev. Jonathan Fisk meditates on:
1. Psalm 132:8-12
8 Arise, O Lord, and go to your resting place,
you and the ark of your might.
9 Let your priests be clothed with righteousness,
and let your saints shout for joy.
10 For the sake of your servant David,
do not turn away the face of your anointed one.
11 The Lord swore to David a sure oath
from which he will not turn back:
“One of the sons of your body[a]
I will set on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant
and my testimonies that I shall teach them,
their sons also forever
shall sit on your throne.”
Footnotes:
- Psalm 132:11 Hebrew of your fruit of the womb
2. Proverbs 13:24
24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.[a]
Footnotes:
- Proverbs 13:24 Or who loves him disciplines him early
3. The Apostles Creed in The Large Catechism
In light of the feast of Pentecost, we study the Apostles Creed in the Large Catechism, paragraphs 57-59, regarding the work of the Holy Spirit. Purchase your copy of the Book of Concord at cph.org or view it online at bookofconcord.org/lc-4-creed.php.
