Deaconesses serve very special and significant roles serving God’s people with acts of mercy. Roles vary in types of service and location, whether in a church, nursing home, mission field, etc, but each deaconess has a unique story and love for God’s people. In the first segment, guest Deaconess Amanda Van de Kamp from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls, Idaho, tells her story of becoming a deaconess and the daily service she does in the church. In the second segment, Deaconess Kristin Wassilak, Director of the Deaconess Program at Concordia University Chicago, talks about deaconess formation and the multiple routes available to become a deaconess.
