Theater and dance are wonderful ways for children to get involved in an activity that builds confidence, leadership skills, and social skills. Our two guests today talk about why these activities are so beneficial to children.
Kathryn Mooers, Director and Theater Arts Teacher at the Lake Country Playhouse in Hartland, WI, talks about how theater can build many skills for children, including leadership, problem-solving, and relationship-building, as well as build confidence in children that can last a lifetime. Mooers also speaks about how to find a good theater program for you child.
Mary Murdaugh, owner of Dawsonville Dance in Dawsonville, GA, talks about the role of dance in the development of a child. Dance teaches confidence, social, leadership, and relational skills in a way that very few other activities can teach. Murdaugh also speaks about how to encourage children to continue to dance even when they feel shy or not confident about performing.
