Augsburg Confession: Articles XIX: The Cause of Sin and XX: Good Works

The source of sin cannot be with God, but with humans and the devil.  Not all works in the church should be considered helpful.  One should be careful also how much good works dominates Christian preaching and teaching, and especially its relationship to the chief doctrine, faith.
